OEM Roof Racks
Buyer's Guide To GM And Ford Roof Racks
Why Add A Roof Rack To Your Ford Or GM Vehicle?
If you're heading out for a week of camping fun or merely want to spend a day off in the great outdoors, adding a factory roof rack makes great sense. You're able to expand your cargo capacity while maintaining passenger space as well. Even better, you can take along oversized items -- like kayaks -- that wouldn't fit securely in even a large SUV like the Ford Expedition.
How Hard Is It To Install A Roof Rack?
It's a simple process, no matter the type of roof rack you buy. First, you have a set of rails. Foot packs, or towers, support those rails with a solid base upon which to rest. Cross rails are then added to provide even more stability while allowing for optimal gear distribution. The cross rails also provide multiple tie-down opportunities to secure your items. Some roof racks even feature locks to keep everything safe and sound. Finally, there are the fasteners and brackets linking everything together, with nuts and bolts securing the connection.
What Is The Average Cost Of A Ford Or GM Roof Rack?
That depends on the type of roof rack you buy. A simple set of rails can cost about $150 at retail, while more complex systems can run to $850 or more. However, you're in luck! That's because we sell the authentic Ford and GM roof racks you need, as well as any hardware or other exterior accessories, at prices that are discounted up to 35% off the MSRP.
